January 4th, 2011

Happy New Year everyone!

We rang in the New Year at a friends house. They had a family friendly party and we had a blast. We celebrated the ball drop at 11pm so that we could all get home before all the craziness started outside while we were driving home.

I got to go yesterday and have my new permanent front tooth crown put on. I broke my front tooth in half when I was in 5th grade and had a permanent crown put on it when i was 16. I have hated it since I got it. It was never the same color as my teeth were (it was yellow compared as the dentist said that teeth yellow as you get older...there weren't tooth whiteners in those days). It was shorter than my other front tooth AND it had metal in it for stability and it showed right at the gum line. UGLY!! So, almost 30 years later I have one that matches my teeth, the right length and NO METAL!! Here's a pic after I got it put on....

STITCHING GOALS FOR 2011:

I have thought a lot about what I want to get stitched this year. Here are my 'want to stitch' things:

I WANT to xstitch stockings for my son, husband and myself.

I WANT to xstitch ornaments for my son and daughter.

I WANT to xstitch the wedding piece that I searched forever for the right one and finally found it.

I would also love to crochet an afghan for my niece for Christmas.

Now, if I get ANY of this done, I'll be extremely happy. My cross stitch group is going to have an encouragement group as a lot of us lost our xstitching mojo over the past year or so. It's been almost 2 years for me. The only obstacle is going to be my school and homework and home schooling my son.

I start school 2 weeks from today. I'm VERY nervous about going back. I'm 45 years old and starting a new career. But, I'm SO excited at the same time about going back.

I wish you all a very prosperous New Year! May you all have your socks blessed off!
