Good morning!

Two weeks have passed since starting school. I have to say that I like it very much! A LOT, and I mean a LOT, of homework to do. But, I am taking 13 units, so I'm full time. My husband and son are SO wonderful too about it. Very encouraging and supportive.

I chose the ornies today that I'll make for my children this Christmas. I'm going to order them this week sometime. I never had a chance to make ornies last year for them and I felt awful that I bought some for them. They don't come here, so I'm safe posting them! LOL

These are by Sweetheart Tree and are absolutely adorable!! I can't wait to get stitching on them!
I would love to hear what you're stitching on. Leave me a reply and let me know!
Hugs and have a great day my friends.

Afternoon!

I've been a busy one...okay, so when am I NOT busy you say? lol And you'd be absolutely right!

I've got 2 more days til school starts for me. I must say that I'm a bit nervous about my a/p class as there is SO much to learn. Then the 3 other classes as well. But, I'm confident in knowing I'm a smart cookie and that I will be able to do it. And the human body and how it works is a fascination of mine, so I should just love this class. :0)

I started cross stitching again about a week ago. I hadn't xstitched in 2 yrs. My xstitching mojo went on an extended vacation apparently. LOL But, now I'm stitching on a piece for hubby and I that's a beautiful Stoney Creek wedding piece. I'm changing all the pink flowers to blue ones though as I think it will be SO much more pretty that way.

I got the house all organized today. Got our spare room made into a study room (it still has a bed in there for guests) with a desk I found at goodwill. I primed and painted it and it looks fantastic! Got my son's computer set up on it (I have a netbook and there's room for it too) and have my school things and his set up on the bookshelf. Tomorrow I'm going to do a thorough cleaning in the house so that I feel better about going to school Tuesday. Anyone that knows me knows my house is always clean. Being a full time student is NOT going to change that. Trust me. :0)

Hope you all have a great week ahead. And those that have a 3 day weekend, ENJOY!

Happy New Year everyone!

We rang in the New Year at a friends house. They had a family friendly party and we had a blast. We celebrated the ball drop at 11pm so that we could all get home before all the craziness started outside while we were driving home.

I got to go yesterday and have my new permanent front tooth crown put on. I broke my front tooth in half when I was in 5th grade and had a permanent crown put on it when i was 16. I have hated it since I got it. It was never the same color as my teeth were (it was yellow compared as the dentist said that teeth yellow as you get older...there weren't tooth whiteners in those days). It was shorter than my other front tooth AND it had metal in it for stability and it showed right at the gum line. UGLY!! So, almost 30 years later I have one that matches my teeth, the right length and NO METAL!! Here's a pic after I got it put on....

STITCHING GOALS FOR 2011:

I have thought a lot about what I want to get stitched this year. Here are my 'want to stitch' things:

I WANT to xstitch stockings for my son, husband and myself.

I WANT to xstitch ornaments for my son and daughter.

I WANT to xstitch the wedding piece that I searched forever for the right one and finally found it.

I would also love to crochet an afghan for my niece for Christmas.

Now, if I get ANY of this done, I'll be extremely happy. My cross stitch group is going to have an encouragement group as a lot of us lost our xstitching mojo over the past year or so. It's been almost 2 years for me. The only obstacle is going to be my school and homework and home schooling my son.

I start school 2 weeks from today. I'm VERY nervous about going back. I'm 45 years old and starting a new career. But, I'm SO excited at the same time about going back.

I wish you all a very prosperous New Year! May you all have your socks blessed off!

November 19th, 2010

It's a VERY cold morning this morning. I need to get out of my nice warm bed and get my booty to the gym. I have a very busy day today, but can't start any of it til I get my workout done.

I have lots of running around town today. So my son and I will get it all done. Hubby is working his 10 hrs, then picked up an OT shift til 10 tonight. So I'll be working on my FILs afghan putting it together. I finished up the 48 squares a few days ago. They are 2 toned. 24 of each of 2 color schemes. Going to be very nice once together. The part I hate is putting the ends in all the squares first.... ugh... my plan is to get that part done tonight so that I can start actually putting it together this weekend.

Going to take my son to see HP7 as well today. We've seen all of the movies on opening day, so we're not going to miss today!

We're going to put up our outside decorations tomorrow. Supposed to be in the 60's and no rain, so perfect weather for it. Believe it or not...we've got possible snow on hand for next week!! Wow!

Okay...hope you all have a fantastic day!

November 17th, 2010

Good morning my friends.

I have come to the realization that in this world there really is only ONE thing that is always a constant. GOD! And that's not the fault of people. We are human. We make mistakes, we say something unkind, we do something that we don't realize hurts others. But, there is also so much GOOD in our lives. The family that we would die for and know they would for us too. The friends that God has put in our paths whether for a short time or a lifetime. They are all there in our pathways to lead us to where we are supposed to be going. They are also there to help us get through our good and bad situations as well.

Since moving to MO I can honestly say that I don't have anyone here (yet) that I can truly call a friend. I have aquaintances and wives of my husband's friends. But no one that I can sit and just shoot the gab with. I realize how much I miss that. I know we've only been here a short time and that it will come eventually. In the meantime, I've been growing in my walk with God again. And that's always a good thing for anyone. God is ever so faithful. He is never ending. He is CONSTANT.

Tomorrow I register for my classes. And therefore start my journey to being a Physical Therapy Assistant. I will graduate in May or June of 2013. I am looking forward to learning again. I took the test to see where I'd start with my English classes...I aced it with a 99% score! I had already gotten a 4.0 in college intermediate algebra, so I don't have to take any math classes. Although I LOVE math! :0)

I had a fantastic past weekend with my husband and my father-in-law. We drove over 1700 miles to Alabama and back. We went to the Alabama college game (RTR!) and then the following day we went to my husband's cousins house. My FIL really wanted to see his nephews and nieces, but the nieces didn't show up. They have been leading a life away from God and drugs and they were too ashamed to see their uncle. Even though it may be the last time they got to see him. That saddened me so very much.

Got my 45yo full blood panel and 'privilege of being a woman' exam done this past week. lol Blood panel came back great. Will have to wait awhile to get the results from the other back. I need to make my appt for my mammogram today as well. My doctor told me I'm in very good shape for my age (was she implying I was old? LOL). That I took very good care of myself. I told her I try very hard to do just that. I also got my flu shot yesterday and my blood drawn for my 3 month check-up on my thyroid. So, in other words, I got poked and prodded in EVERY possible way yesterday. Glad this is another day for sure! ;0)

Just thought I should clarify that I DO have wonderful online friends. The ones that have been faithful and close to me all these years (and you know who you are) I cherish very much. I couldn't have made it through some of the things that I did without you. THANK YOU!

Hope you all have a wonderful day.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!!

Yes, I know it's been about 6 weeks since I posted. I got VERY ill and stayed that way for almost 6 weeks. I got some weird intestinal virus that just wreaked havoc on my system. the middle 2 weeks were the worst. I lost 12 pounds in those 2 weeks. I went to the doc at that point and she said I was badly dehydrated and my body was in starvation mode. No duh! lol So, I got put on Pedialyte and had to give some samples that if I NEVER have to do that again it will make me VERY happy!! lol All tests came back negative. I have to say that this week is the first week that I actually felt back to 'normal'.

I met with a personal trainer *Ron* and he tried to break me! hahaha Seriously he did. He told me so! I met with him for an hour a bit over a week ago. He worked EVERY single muscle in my body. The following day I could barely walk. I slept on a heating pad for my abs for 3 nights too. lol But, now I can do the workout every day. I took today off as I've decided to start taking one day off a week for recovery. I'm already seeing a difference in the definition on my legs and arms. I had lost all my weight, but now wanted to finish tighting and toning up. My hubby did some of my leg work that I've been doing and he was sore for 2 days! He said he had sympathy for me before, but had renewed sympathy now. And that he was going to start doing the leg work with his workouts too. :0)

Hubby and I are going to an AF dinner next weekend. I got to go buy a new dress (nothing fits me) and I love it! I even went down another 2 sizes from a 10 to an 8. I could have fit into a 7 pretty easily, but my chest wouldn't fit into it. LOL I'll post pics from it as they are to have a professional photog there. Hubby will be in his dress tux...Oooo lah lah! LOVE my man in uniform!

So, candy is ready...decorations are up....pumpkins carved...son in costume... I'm ALL READY for Halloween!!

Have a good one!

September 16, 2010

Afternoon everyone. It's a beautiful day here. Upper 70's I believe will be the high for today. It's a bit humid after the BAD storm we got last night. The sky was lit up all night with the lightening. Thunder seemed to go on forever at a time. But, it's one of the things I love about here. We do get some gnarly storms. I don't like the tornado warnings, but I do love the storms. :0)

I finished my MILs afghan for Christmas. Now I'm working on one for my FIL. His is 48 squares sewn together. I started it the other night and have 5 squares done so far. They are easy and I have done one or two a night. That makes it enjoyable. lol Using dark and light blue yarn for it.

Other than that, spending a few days with the hubster that he has off. Nice when they are during the week.

Starting homeschooling on Monday with my son. We've been trying to get all of his schooling things so that we can start. Finally think we're ready!! YAY!

Hope you all have a wonderful rest of your week and weekend.
